May 2010 She Rox Triathlon Tempe Arizona

My cousin Lisa who passed away in Oct. of 2009 loved the She Rox Triathlon, and due to me not being a girl I could not race:) Abbie, and Jessica decided to compete in there first triathlon. A few of Lisa's friends and family raced to tribute Lisa. Abbie finished 9th in her age group and Jessica finished 14th.

Xterra Nationals Sept. 2009

The Ogden Nationals at Snowbasin UT was a blast. During the race I ended up with a huge set-back, I got 3 flat tires..yes 3. I was real frustrated with the results due to standing on the trail asking everyone passing by if they have any extra tubes. In my age group I finished in 6th place. In the point series I finished 13th in the Nation and in my age group I finished 2nd place in the Mountain Conference. In the Sport distance Corey Johnson came in in 76th place overall, Weston Ridd in 120th place, Chris Castelli in 195th place, and David Cook in 220th place.

July 2009 Beaver Creek Colorado Xterra Triathlon Mountain Championship

In July 2009 my little sister Jessica joined me for the Mountain Championship in Avon CO. This triathlon was tough, but I enjoyed every moment of the race. The race started with a 1 mile swim, to 18 miles on the mtn. bike climbing nearly 5000 ft., and finishing the race with a 10K trail run. I finished in 6th place in my age group and qualified to compete in Nationals held at Snowbasin UT.

June 2009 Farmington New Mexico Xterra Triathlon (Olympic Distance)

In June 2009 Abbie and I drove down to Farmington New Mexico for the Xterra Four Corners. This race is set up a little different, instead of a swim, bike, run, you swim, run, bike. Mtn. Biking is my strength so I enjoyed finishing the race on my bike, I took 65 overall, and 1st place in my age group.
The water was freezing
The run was a blast, rolling hills and small drop offs
Last stage

The mountain biking was so fast with quick steep up-hills
